Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is very different from the biomedical supplements and dietary restrictions that are common autism treatments. This is a method of delivering high concentrations of oxygen to the body by breathing air much higher in oxygen than normal air (up to 100% oxygen is used) while the body is subjected to greater than normal air pressure. This is carried out in specialized HBOT chambers. This treatment is relatively new, but has already shown promise for autism and ASDs.
